Hello everyone, new here and also new to having a ford. I have a 2018 F150 Lariat 2.7l with 160k had 130k when I bought it. Recently, I’ve gotten a code twice for p21d0 and before that it was p0430 for a couple weeks. Truck drives fine as the code pops up and the engine studders for a second then evens out and drives totally normal. I ordered these two parts to replace the injector as I read the injectors solenoid can burn out and throw that code as I don’t think it’s a brittle wire issue or anything else. My question is, do I absolutely have to replace this fuel pipe? I bought a whole OEM assembly fuel rail brand new with the injectors already installed and I’m just gonna swap it. I read online that ford says the fuel pipe is a one time use and that it has to be replaced when messing with the direct injectors, but I also see other people saying you have to. Just need some input or past experiences. Looks like a pain in the ass to change out and just want some input before I go through with it

as the title said. my dad just told me this. for context, i’m in my mid twenties now and i have 3 younger sisters. i was made to wear it at 9 years old, and my parents said that they didn’t notice a change in my personality since i’ve always been reserved and quiet. (i remember hating it, but i never said anything because i didn’t think i had a choice). but they said they noticed that my eldest sister (4 years younger than me) really changed after she wore it. before it she had a really bubbly and outgoing personality. when she started wearing the hijab, she became more cautious, she lost confidence and she actually went through a period of depression (idk if it can be attributed entirely to hijab, but it definitely didn’t help, since she lost friends and got bullied after she wore the hijab). they had noticed a similar pattern with my 2nd sister, she’s two years younger than sister number 1. it was not such a dramatic shift, but it was still the same. she had lost her “childhood spark” so to say. and my dad said he really dreaded my youngest sister turning 9, because she will grow up quickly like we all did. she did wear it, and you guessed it, she changed just the same. i told my dad, of course, what do you expect? when you wear a hijab, it comes with the expectation to act a certain way, and to attract the least amount of attention possible. when you’re wearing the hijab you become a visual representation of billions of people. this is not fully understood when you’re a child, but people around you start treating you differently, especially if you’re in an islamic country (which we are in). and he said that it just made him sad, and he wishes it wasn’t the case, but it’s obligatory and not to be questioned. (for additional context, we are a Shia family, and under Shia teachings, little girls have to wear it at 9 years old). and i also felt sad for my young self and my sisters. i’m not sure if this is a practice across all of muslim countries/shia communities globally, or just mine, but there is a special ceremony for girls who are turning 9, called “takleef”. it’s actually so cult like now that i reflect on it. but usually, 8 year old girls take these islamic classes for a year, where they learn how to pray, wuduu, fasting and all the islamic rules. also you’re taught the meaning of hijab, how you’re supposed to act when wearing it, who you can take it in front of, etc. after the girls complete this “course”, there’s a ceremony, where all the 9 year olds girls are dressed in white, with white hijabs, and flower crowns on their heads “graduate” essentially. The purpose is to tell these young girls that they are fully accountable under the eyes of Allah. (I’ll put a picture idk if i’m doing a good job describing the lunacy). now how would a little girl not change after being taught that the almighty god is judging every single action she takes? i attended this takleef ceremony for all of my sisters. every time i left filled with sadness, and i would be sad for days after. first time i attended it, i didn’t know why i was sad. but in the other two ceremonies , i think i just saw myself in those girls. that ceremony felt like a representation of lost childhoods. the pure innocence of childhood should be preserved. that ceremony just felt like the opposite of that. anyway i didn’t expect this rant to head into this direction but here we are

Basically the title. For context, I have both autism and ADHD, so major changes in my life are difficult for me. I (22F) am currently at a PhD program, at a school I didn't want to be in initially. I had gotten accepted into various programs, and my parents had pushed me to go to School A, I had wanted to go to School B, and after numerous arguments we compromised by having me go to School C, which unironically had some qualities School A had (prestige, but to a lesser extent), and had some qualities I wanted in School B (a good environment to do research + stuff I'm passionate about). My parents recently told me I can't do a research project I'm passionate in because my collaborators aren't high enough on the academic totem pole (I wanted to experiment with a project that didn't involve my advisor so I was working with other PhD students and postdocs instead of an established professor). They were very adamant that I don't do the research I like but switch my research area to something that's profitable and can make money. I'm worried about getting both my sleep and work disrupted by them because they call me at late hours in the night if they see fit that they should yell at me. And even if the call isn't that long how I'll need to spend away from work to recover from a call is going to add more hours where I do nothing. I do live at my university campus and I am paid a relatively decent stipend. My PhD advisor thinks I should somehow convince my parents that I am capable of getting a job after I graduate, but I know this is impossible because no matter whatever plan I come up with they always ask so many what if questions until they reach a point my plan didn't account for. And with AI disrupting white collar work, basically any plan I make would be on pretty shaky ground anyways. My parents have already AI-generated thesis topics that they want me to select from. My PhD advisor is already tired of my parental involvement, which he has dealt with for the past 2 years. The way I see it I have these options, none of which I like: \- Give up fighting and let my parents dictate what research I will do. This will, with high probability, kill my relationship with my PhD advisor, especially since he spent a lot of time hoping that he could one day see my full potential when I'm truly excited about a project. \- Lie to my parents and do the research I like anyways. This is equivalent to kicking the can down the road, because with how closely my parents monitor my Google Scholar, they will eventually realize something is up when I don't produce papers that align with the research topics they selected. \- Do what I like but be honest about it. This will involve me continuing to have to deal with them constantly yelling at me and having to hear about everything I'm doing wrong in life. Ending all communication with them would turn my siblings' life back home into a living hell. This has also made me realize I do not have the emotional maturity to be in a PhD program. But right now the job market is cooked, retail jobs pay much worse than what I currently make, and moving back into my parents' basement isn't exactly an option. Getting a PhD has also been a massive dream of mine. I could try to transfer out to a different PhD program but the chance it gives me a stipend comparable to my current one is pretty close to zero, not to mention almost no PhD advisor would want to put up with me. At the same time I know it's not fair to my current PhD advisor to have to deal with my low emotional maturity. I realize that I might sound crazy complaining in a situation where as of right now, I have a job for the next few years that pays pretty well and pays all the bills. My PhD advisor has repeatedly emphasized that my high pay is there so I don't need to starve and suffer from my needs not being met, so I almost feel guilty that I'm suffering from an issue that in theory shouldn't be a problem.

Approaching 1500, I cannot match the English and their vassals' armies. I spent 1336-1436 economically developing, then forged an alliance iwth france. Have fought two wars to date where i fought them to a standstill, albeit getting no rewards for my outlay and probably due to English armies being distracted in france. This time France was already getting pummelled by a German coalition so i am facing more of their forces. My general approach is to build up ua treasury of 4-5k , plus the buffer of 3-4k in loans available from estates. At DOW, having theoretically maxed out my manpower, I recruit lots of elite units like heavy cavalry, raise all my levies, and recruit c.9k of the beefiest mercs i can find. I win a good few battles in early years, having a favourable k/d, but the losses just can't be replaced in this game in the way they can in EU4. Cue the situation in the screenshots - being assailed on several fronts, but most crucially, i'm out of significant financial reserves to raise another 10k mercs that would be necessary to win further battles to drive out the invaders. I've already used up my "request funds" from France for the decade. I can't think of any other sources of money. What advice do people have for extricating myself/ not getting into this situation in the first place?

Ive lived in the same town almost my entire life, its a fairly big place, 20 thousand people, but living there your whole life, you get to know every knook and cranny, or at least i thought so. I heading home, work wasnt far, about a 20 minute walk, i took the same route every day, and hadnt seen any construction recently, so it was beyond me how a new street had been built since yesterday, it was a perfect street, not a pothole or crack, with sidewalks all along both sides, no buildings, no remnants of construction, anything. Although i thought it was weird, i just assumed it was an extremely quick construction job, or i just never noticed it, so i went home, and clocked out for the day. The next day, after id gotten myself up and ready, i left home to head to work, same route as yesterday. I reached the new street, unable to say a word, as i see perfect rows of beautiful white suburban houses, i have no clue how they got there, no construction, nothing, at this point i was freaked out, but decided to ignore it, it wasnt my problem anyway. Work went by fine, still thinking about the street, i decided to ask my coworker about it, they said it had always been there, i knew this wasnt true. Nothing had changed to the street on my way home that day, i was very worried about it, i didnt know what was going on, i had a few drinks to take my mind off it. I collapsed onto my bed, 1 in the morning, Half awake, half asleep, and i hear something, it was a chunky wet cracking sound, and behind it was what i think was voices, extremely crackly voices, a a a... a a a... i i i... i i i...,. I wake up, major hangover, but still remembering what happened last night, although horrified, i get ready and go to work. I got to the street, and i couldnt breathe, there were people living in the houses, normal looking people, and at the beginning of the street laid a sign, sunset street. Im horrified, how did they get there, who are they? Where did they come from? I spent a week watching this street The people living there seem normal, they had families, and the longer i watched i saw they had routines, individualities, and personalities, but they never left the street, never went to work, and never went shopping. After some thinking, i decided to knock on one of the doors, a woman openned it, dressed very properly, we chatted a small bit, but i couldnt keep my eyes off the interior of the house, completely bare, not even flooring, just concrete, 2 kids simply stood in the bare house, doing nothing but look. I left the street, i didnt want to think about it anymore, but it kept haunting my mind, after i couldnt sleep, i stayed up watching raunchy comedies. 1 in the morning came quick, and right when the clock struck, i heard screams, not of one person, but what seemed like a hundred different people, screams of agony, the screams were so loud i almost couldnt hear the crunching and wet gushing. I had to plug my ears just to sleep. The next day the street was gone, no buildings, not road, no sign, the only thing i could see, was splatters of blood where the street wouldve connected. these have been there for over a year, both eyes. these appear every time i move my eyes or head, even just when i'm walking, flashes, one of which is a white line across my left eye, but regardless of what direction i turn my eyes, up, down, left, right, there's flashes and white/ bright spots on the side i turned my eye towards and the opposite side. they've gotten really bad, on both eyes on the sides i have a spot that's basically always there and moves in place when i turn my head while looking ahead. there's probably like 50 different ones because i see these basically all day every day, even just turning my eyes a bit, my eyes also hurt from time to time. every time my blood pressure goes up i see spots in my vision like these, pulsating with my heartbeat. the brighter the room or environment the worse they are, the darker the room or environment the less noticeable they are. they got really bad after i got sick earlier this year and coughed a lot, i see them when i cough too. the only thing i can imagine is it's a problem with pressure, but i don't know, they've definitely gotten worse tho, not one of those "oh you're just noticing them more because you're focusing on them" things, they've definitely gotten worse, the eye doctor i went to yesterday just told me my eyes looked dry, prescribed me glasses and eye drops then told me to come back in 3 months if they didn't get better then she'd send me to a specialist, genuinely don't know what this is or why it's worsening but i'm scared and haven't found answers.
